1What Is FLUX?

FLUX is a family of image-generation and editing models from Black Forest Labs. Current official documentation recommends FLUX.2 for new projects and describes text-to-image, multi-reference editing, high-resolution output, targeted tools, API access and self-hostable variants.

FLUX is an ecosystem, not one universal interface. A hosted provider, BFL playground, API endpoint or self-hosted model can expose different controls, privacy terms, prices and licences. Record the exact provider, model and version used.

Choose by production constraint. Highest precision, speed, cost efficiency, local deployment and reproducibility can point to different FLUX variants.
